It is probably named after Chirnside, Lothian, Scotland. There cannot be that many Chirnside's around?

I suppose that's the long way around. I have just learnt that Chirnside Park was named after George Chirnside, son of the Australian pastoralists Thomas and Andrew Chirnside. I don't know how far Lothian is from Berwickshire where the brothers' family came from. This happened, though, only in 1962, before it was called Mooroolbark Park after the property.
